Jewish Museum of Florida hosts Annual Judges & Lawyers event - January 26
CHIEF JUDGE JOEL H. BROWN KEYNOTES January 26, 2012 at 5:30 p.m.

Event Chair Justice Gerald Kogan announces the Tenth Annual Judges and Lawyers Event, to be held on Thursday, January 26 at 5:30 pm at the Museum. The event is open to all current or new Museum members who are judges or lawyers or in related professions. The keynote speaker is Judge Joel H. Brown who, in July 2009, became Chief Judge of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida. He is a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in accounting and a graduate of the University of Florida School of Law with a Juris Doctorate degree.

Felice and Gerald Schwartz were honored at Israel Bonds 2012 Prime Minister’s Club Gala
Felice and Gerald Schwartz were among the 14 distinguished recipients of the United Jerusalem Medallion, presented by Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz, at the Israel Bonds Prime Minister’s Club dinner that took place Sunday, January 22 at 5:00 p.m. at the Boca West Country Club in Boca Raton, Florida. The dinner was the traditional launching of the Israel Bonds campaign.

With their enthusiasm for Israel Bonds undiminished after more than 60 years, Felice and Gerald are widely-respected Bonds leaders. In addition, Felice served as president of the Greater Miami chapters of Hadassah and NA'AMAT USA, president of South Shore Hospital Auxiliary in Miami Beach and vice president of Jewish Women's Philanthropy of Greater Miami. Gerald, founding editor of The Jewish Herald, has held prominent leadership roles with organizations including the Urban League of Greater Miami, B'nai B'rith Miami Beach Lodge, the American Zionist Movement and JNF.

Playing The Game Of Life℠ Offers Mini-Camps To Prevent And Battle Obesity In Children
In an effort to prevent and eradicate this alarming trend, Playing the Game of Life℠ (PGL℠), an innovative program for teaching social emotional learning through an arts-based curriculum, offers a fun-filled mini-camp, where children 5 to 12 years old will enjoy different activities while learning about health and wellness. It will run on the upcoming Teacher Planning Days (January 23rd and February 3rd) and the week of Spring Break (March 12th- 16th), from 9 am to 3 pm, at 7144 Byron Avenue, Miami Beach, Florida.

During the mini-camp, children will enjoy Fitness, Stress Reduction through Yoga, Environmental Art, Music, Positive Communication and Life Skills℠, as well as prepare their own lunch in the Nutritional Education and Organic Cooking class.

The cost for the day minicamp is $50 and the week of minicamp is $250. Pre-registration is required.
