South Florida Boxing says goodbye to long time friend Angelo Dundee
As I am sure you may know, the great Angelo Dundee passed away on February 1st. I want to share the below with you in hopes that you can share with the chamber members. Dundee made such an impact to our community (Miami Beach) and to the boxing industry.

South Florida Boxing is saddened to hear of the loss of a longtime friend and supporter of South Florida Boxing (Miami Beach), Angelo Dundee. After The 5th Street Gym was shut down& closed in 1990 (20+ years ago), Dundess' boxing go-to was South Florida Boxing. Dundee celebrated his 80th birthday at South Florida Boxing (photos attached). At South Florida Boxing, Dundee trained David Estrada while frequented the gym mant times a week for 7+ years to watch the training of Bernard Hopkins, Oscar De La Hoya and Roy Jones, to name a few & there were TONS more.

He sure was an incredible, legendary man who will truly be missed.

Knight Foundation Launches Challenge Grant for Arts Board Match
The Arts & Business Council of Miami has been awarded a Knight Arts Challenge grant for Arts Board Match, a new project to ignite arts boards with new members and new vitality. Imagine hundreds of business professionals channeled onto arts boards to light them up with new ideas. Visualize the opportunity for each person to find the board where they feel a personal passion and commitment. Using modern technology, the internet and social media The Arts & Business Council hopes to get business involved, one board member at a time.

This will allow business persons who have always had an interest in the arts to contribute their valuable business skills to promote culture in Miami.
